Jared Callister Allsop, beloved son, grandson, brother, uncle and friend, died on October 13, 2011 at the Riverton Hospital, Riverton, Utah after a valiant nine month battle with leukemia.
He was born in West Valley City on October 22, 1985. Jared loved life and lived it to the fullest. He had more adventures in his short life than most people do in a lifetime. Jared loved his work and loved to play. He brought joy to all of us with his beautiful smile.
Preceded in death by his great grandparents and pets Stripes and Dots, he is survived by his parents Darryl and Patti Allsop, his grandparents Lewis and Vivian Allsop and Evan and Jan Callister, his brothers Jake (Judy), Bryce (Angelina), Nathan, and Justin, best friend Derek Lee, aunts Amanda, Sheri (Bill), Denise (Lou), uncles Steve and James, nephew Kal’el, cousins, many great friends, and pets Sarah, Dixie and Rose.
Family and friends may gather Tuesday October 18, 2011 at the Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary – South Valley, 1007 West South Jordan Parkway (10600 South) from 5:00-7:00 PM for a closed casket tribute to Jared’s life which will be followed at 7:00 PM by Memorial Services at the same address.
In lieu of flowers, we encourage donations to local or national accredited Leukemia and/or Bone Marrow Transplant facilities such as LDS Hospital, NFT, NTAF or others in order to help provide other cancer patients with the life saving treatments they need.
Jared’s family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to all the doctors, nurses and other medical providers and care givers who have helped him fight this long battle.
