Darlene Johnson Cook

(July 20, 1936 - October 22, 2011)

Darlene J. Cook was born July 20th 1936 in Kamas Utah to Belva Arlene Hulse and James LeRoy Johnson. She is a graduate of Granite High School and married her sweetheart, Arvin Cook, March 6th 1953; later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they have six children, 28 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren—and they were the joy and center of her life. In addition to being active in the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, she enjoyed her relationships with friends in book and doll clubs. She loved flowers, gardening and finding beauty in all of God’s creations.
She loved holidays, family gatherings and was always concerned more with others. Her generosity with her time and love knew no bounds, with many calling her mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She is remembered as a kind-hearted and loving woman that followed her heart and listened closely to things of the spirit.
She passed away Saturday October 22, 2011 with her husband and children close to her. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Kenneth LeRoy; and her son James Arvin.
